This is an online study day designed to build confidence, capability and knowledge for nurses new to neuroscience. It is suitable for nurses from acute, rehabilitation or community settings. This course provides an introduction to key concepts, helping nurses build confidence in understanding neurological conditions and the important role nurses play in patient care and recovery.
Participants will explore core components of neurological assessment and gain practical insight into conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS). The study day also covers common neurological interventions, including seizure management and care of patients with shunts, alongside an introduction to cognition, agitation, and post‑traumatic amnesia (PTA).
